Business Director

Location: Shanghai
Position: Full time
Reporting to: CEO & Founding Partner


As Business Director you will be responsible for

Strategy, Counsel and Leadership

  • Act as a strategic partner to the management team and overall staff of the Agency that aligns with the Agency’s business plan and overall strategic vision
  • Act as a senior lead of key accounts as required to provide strategy and counsel, and coach and develop the management team and other members so that they are meeting performance expectations
  • Attract, recruit, retain required members of the Agency management currently not in place
  • Boost and promote the Agency’s reputation and thus building a stronger business relationship with The Orangeblowfish community and external agency stakeholders
  • Collaborate with CEO and management team on budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation programs as well as set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance and profitability
  • Create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
  • Drive BD and local market marketing strategies through building and fostering strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, partners, media, and all stakeholder
  • Foster a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Lead and develop a team across multiple locations and various functions including Client Servicing, Strategy/Planning, BD & marketing and so forth
  • Motivate and encourage employees at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company including but not limited to professional staff, management level employees and other key team members
  • Partner with the CEO and management team in creating, growing and building a world class, industry leading Agency
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Work closely with the management team to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company


Business Performance, Growth and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the Finance Manager and team, CEO, Executive Creative Director, and other key management team members
  • Partner with the Finance Manager and team to achieve favorable financial results with respect to sales, profitability, cash flow, mergers and acquisitions, systems, reporting and controls
  • Partner with the Executive Creative Director and other management leads to improve systems and processes, controls and procedures to enhance the overall efficiency and client servicing of the Agency
  • Provide accurate and timely reports as required outlining the operational condition of the company
  • Any other duties assigned by the senior management team


The Successful Candidate 

  • 10+ years’ experience working at an international creative/branding, of which at least 3+ years management and operational experience
  • Experience with corporate management, strategic planning and vision, financial planning/strategy and forecasting, BD development, marketing and so forth 
  • Real passion for working with people, supporting and enabling them to do their best work
  • Experience in roles working on cultural/community building programs
  • Strong operational and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute projects
  • Clear, compelling presentation and communication style
  • Ability to work with multiple leadership styles and can be effective in unstructured and ambiguous environments
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, plus proofing skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects, as well as work under pressure to meet deadlines, and across multiple projects
  • Exceptional executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills
  • Focused and can-do mindset
  • Ability to speak English and Chinese fluently

Communications / Marketing Intern

Location: Shanghai
Position: Min 4 days per week
Reporting to: Marketing Specialist

We are looking for passionate, research-savvy, and digital natives to join us as interns!


Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing at our studio:

  • Assisting our client servicing team members on a range of tasks including by not limited to research, competitive analysis, pitching stories to the media and learning what it takes to manage an integrated communications project
  • Facilitating and helping to manage third-party digital and/or media partners, and identifying relevant resources based on client briefs
  • Helping with research on the latest news and trends in China, pertaining to specific categories and needs. Key sectors include F&B, luxury, retail, hotel and travel.

And most importantly: Having fun and sharing your passion and creative ideas with the team and seeing your work come to life!



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media & Communications, or any related industry field
  • Previous experience in copywriting, and/or translating key marketing documents (from English to Chinese, and vice versa)
  • Some experience and familiarity of either pitching to the media and working with media partners, or in digital and social media
  • Working hours are negotiable, but a minimum of 4 days is preferred
  • Must be fluent in Chinese (Chinese Native is preferred)
  • Be able to converse including reading and writing professionally in English

Design Intern

Location: Shanghai
Position: Min 4 days per week
Reporting to: Graphic Designer

We’re looking for several passionate, energetic and ambitious individuals to join us as design interns.


Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing at our studio:

  • Assisting our creative team in all aspects of graphic design and learning what it takes to manage a creative or design project
  • Facilitating and helping manage the partners and suppliers we work with
  • Gaining a better understanding of the design to application process

Most importantly … having fun, and sharing your passion and creative ideas for great design with a very talent team who love what they do!



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related design-based major
  • Strong understanding and fluency in using design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign
  • Some experience and familiarity with using other design programs is also valued, although not necessary
  • Fluent in Chinese
  • Be able to converse including reading and writing in English on a professional level

3D Artist

Location: Shanghai
Position: Full Time
Reporting to: Design Operations Director 

Our design department is in search of a 3D Artist to join us on an immediate basis. You will be responsible for creating 3D artworks using various modeling and texturing techniques. You will be coordinating with the Executive Creative Director and Design Operations Director in understanding the design requirements and offering suggestions accordingly.

The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated the ability to develop creative ideas and illustrate them will be required to gather customer feedback and make improvements in your designs. As part of the larger design team, you will be coordinating with the other team members in giving the finishing touches to client design projects. As a 3D Artist, it is expected that you have complete knowledge of various 3D modeling software.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be required to have a strong professional background; is highly creative; and can work collaboratively. Your ability to manage deadlines and offer excellent customer service will be an added advantage.



  • Conceptualizing and developing design ideas;
  • Creating visual elements, effects, and animations using 3D modeling, texturing, and other techniques;
  • Developing 3D graphics in line with industry standards;
  • Analyzing 3D arts and graphics and suggesting improvements;
  • Optimizing 3D arts and models to develop real-life objects;
  • Examining and troubleshooting any design issues;
  • Communicating with clients to understand their design requirements including gathering feedback;
  • Discussing project timelines and progress with clients and team members;
  • Gathering design feedback from clients;
  • Conducting in-depth research for upcoming projects;
  • Staying updated about the latest design trends;
  • Having a desire to learn new graphic design and illustration applications;
  • Thinking proactively on behalf of the agency, considering new design/digital initiatives, trends and tools on forthcoming projects;
  • Be a passionate, resourceful and helpful team player;
  • Help with ongoing pitch work;
  • Conceptualizing and developing design ideas.


The Successful Candidate:

  • Must be fluent in Chinese (Chinese National is preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Designing, Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, or equivalent
  • 2-3+ years of work experience as a Graphic Designer, Visual Effects Artist, or a similar position in the Design industry
  • Complete knowledge of various 3D design techniques like Digital Sculpting, Procedural Modeling, Edge modeling, and Box/Subdivision Modeling
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as Blender, Sketchup, 3D Max, Rhino and ZBrush
  • Strong background in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Strong layout skills (colour, typography and composition)
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Have a good understanding of print media, digital media, branding and interactive design
  • A willingness to stay current: keeping skills and knowledge updated to industry trends
