Account Manager

Title: Account Manager (Luxury / Hotel Industry)
Location: Shanghai
Position: Full time
Reporting to: Client Services Director

 

The Account Manager will play a key role in client servicing and ensuring that our creative and digital teams deliver and exceed on project delivery and client expectations.

 

As Account Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the creative and digital teams to deliver uniquely creative branding and effective digital solutions for clients.
  • Independently managing accounts on a daily basis
  • Managing client expectations to foster effectiveness and productivity
  • Meeting and managing project deadlines
  • Maintaining seamless communication between clients and internal project teams
  • Monitoring the team’s productivity, client’s budget and any out of scope work requests
  • Applying creative and strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Leading internal project and client meetings to brief all involved parties of status updates, priorities, challenges and client feedback
  • Collating information and preparing client reports
  • Being the last pair of eyes before any work is released to client
  • Assisting the Managing Partner in strategically planning resources, business revenue growth and so forth.
  • Participating in business development activities including but not limited to research, supporting pitch preparation and attending business development meetings
  • Acting as mentor to other junior team members so that the quality of work delivered is always consistent, and continuously improving

 

Other responsibilities include:

Influencer Marketing/PR and Content:

  • Understanding the positioning of clients and products and be able to develop engaging story angles to pitch to journalists, influencers, KOLs/KOCs and bloggers on an on-going basis
  • Assisting in the management of client briefings, media/influencer briefings and other brand campaigns
  • Monitoring and delivering campaign and media reports as required
  • Researching, identifying and maintaining a comprehensive media database
  • Attending industry events on behalf of The Orangeblowfish to strengthen company and individual presence and knowledge
  • Collaborating with team members to consistent on brand messaging across all media channels and platforms. This can include all kinds of media materials such as press releases, written company statements, brand and product videos digital posts and so forth.
  • Reviewing and approving content and providing feedback and guidance to copywriters and other members as required

 

The Successful Candidate 

  • Possesses a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • Must have 6+ years of experience working with a creative or digital agency.
  • Must have 6+ years of experience in account management, at an international agency preferred.
  • Is a team player and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Has proven ability to act as advisor to personnel who are Director level and above.
  • Is obsessed with everything relating to creative and design, campaign strategies, digital marketing strategies and best practices
  • Possesses strong knowledge of digital tools such as WeChat, Weibo, RED, WordPress, and other international social media platforms.
  • Is a strong communicator, and has the innate ability to navigate and interact with key stakeholders, senior members of the Client team, as well as influential people to deliver the desired results.
  • Has the ability to navigate and adapt to new and challenging situations, solve problems, and communicate with those around you.
  • Demonstrates strategic planning abilities such as revenue projections, account growth etc.
  • Must be currently based in Shanghai (no relocation is offered)
  • Must be fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken)

Brand Strategist / Planning Manager

Title: Brand Strategist / Planning Manager
Location: Shanghai

Reporting to: Managing Partner

 

As Brand Strategist or Planning Manager, you will develop and direct the strategic and long-range goals of the Agency including proposals to enter new markets and to expand existing market presence.

 

Some things you’ll be taking care of:

 

Organizational Business Planning

 

Client Work

  • Acts as a catalyst to the creative team in seeking out new ways to add value to the brand and in identifying future opportunities
  • Takes on overall responsibility for understanding market analysis and trends, consumer issues and insights, writing briefs and conducting briefings on multiple brands
  • Leads the team in developing innovative ideas, approaches and final work / service product
  • Creates big ideas and puts them into action and practice for clients
  • Forges strong relationships with high-level clients, key industry bodies, peers and so forth

 

Supervisory role

  • Keeps Agency leadership informed of the progress of planning process and share insights, produce reports as required
  • Ensures the timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, and projects to assure earnings, growth, and profit goals are achieved.
  • Acts as the liaison with clients and key stakeholders at a senior level on a day-to-day basis, promoting the expansion of business when appropriate
  • Executes duties and assignments as directed in compliance with corporate guidelines and objectives.
  • Uses the required skills to market ideas to clients, and the Agency, creatively and strategically
  • Maintain awareness and control situations which may lead to the risk of write-offs.
  • Maintain open and complete communications as required

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Provides coaching, mentoring, motivation and guidance to junior members of the team, to convey the vision and values of the Agency, how best to manage campaigns, general business requests and so forth
  • Encourages a high level of performance by the agency personnel
  • Supports the leadership of the Agency in developing and implementing processes and ways of working that will further enhance the quality, skills and knowledge and/or efficient output of the Agency
  • Ensures that team members work in conformance with Agency policies and procedures and public law.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Agency leadership team

 

Skills required

  • 6+ years relevant industry experience ideally from a larger international Agency
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university
  • A background in advertising, design, branding or marketing
  • Is Chinese Native with strong English and Mandarin language skills (written and spoken)

Communications / Marketing Intern

We are looking for passionate, research-savvy, and digital natives to join us as a interns!

 

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing at our studio:

  • Assisting our client servicing team members on a range of tasks including by not limited to research, competitive analysis, pitching stories to the media and learning what it takes to manage an integrated communications project
  • Facilitating and helping to manage third-party digital and/or media partners, and identifying relevant resources based on client briefs
  • Helping with research on the latest news and trends in China, pertaining to specific categories and needs. Key sectors include F&B, luxury, retail, hotel and travel.

And most importantly: Having fun and sharing your passion and creative ideas with the team and seeing your work come to life!

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media & Communications, or any related industry field
  • Previous experience in copywriting, and/or translating key marketing documents (from English to Chinese, and vice versa)
  • Some experience and familiarity of either pitching to the media and working with media partners, or in digital and social media
  • Working hours are negotiable, but a minimum of 4 days is preferred

Creative Digital Content Writer (English or Chinese)

Title: Creative Digital Content Writer (English or Chinese)

We are in need for creative digital content writers who are strong in research, writing, editing, proofreading and has experience in writing a range of online content. The content will include copy for WeChat, LinkedIn, blogs, newsletters and other marketing purposes. 

 

We’re looking for candidates to help us:

  • Collaborate with the Creative team to produce and deliver engaging content on a regular basis.
  • Edit, proofread and improve content in English or Chinese as required
  • Manage and oversee the online content and publishing calendar for Clients and/or internal projects
  • Create case studies, infographics, marketing decks and other content to pitch that will drive more followers to online channels
  • Pitch content to media and other relevant online channels as required
  • Optimize content for search engines using keywords, meta data, back linking etc
  • Research and stay up-to-date with latest content marketing trends.
  • Conduct digital analytics

 

The successful candidates need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media & Communications, or any related industry field
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience, preferably in a multinational firm and international working environment
  • Previous experience in copy writing and a demonstrated ability to successfully take a brief and create engaging copy in English
  • A passion for digital communications and social media in general
  • An understanding of how social media works in China and international markets, is a plus
  • A willingness to learn and work hard to get it right
  • An ability to work on multiple projects, and still deliver the highest quality of work
  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Native speaking and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability of producing good quality writing in English or Chinese

We’re looking for several passionate, energetic and ambitious individuals to join us as design interns.

Graphic Designer or Junior Graphic Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Take briefs as part of a wider creative team and help generate ideas to present back to the Design Director
  • Have a good knowledge and the ability to execute a range of different design styles and layouts
  • Assist graphic designers on various print, online and on-site projects
  • Coordinate and prepare final artwork with printers and suppliers as required
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, plus proofing skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects, as well as work under pressure to meet deadlines, and across multiple projects
  • Image research
  • Maintaining project and image files
  • Have a desire to learn new graphic design and illustration applications
  • Think proactively on behalf of the agency, considering new design/digital initiatives, trends and tools on forthcoming projects
  • Be a passionate, resourceful and helpful team player
  • Help with ongoing pitch work

 

The Successful Candidate:

  • Must be fluent in Chinese (Chinese National is preferred)
  • At least 3 years working experience in a graphic design role, preferably in a global agency (nice to have, but not essential)
  • Strong background in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Strong layout skills (colour, typography and composition)
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Have a good understanding of print media, digital media, branding and interactive design

Project Coordinator

The Orangeblowfish team is an awarding winning, independent creative branding agency with teams across Asia Pacific. Our headquarters in Shanghai is looking for a marketing or project coordinator to help manage our internal and client projects including but not limited to scoping project timelines, managing budgets, soliciting quotations, preparing estimates for approvals, managing partners and suppliers, and producing content for agency’s marketing and digital online platforms.

The project coordinator will work very closely with the Creative team and Client Services Director to ensure the on-time delivery of campaigns. This is a job that will challenge a highly motivated and organized individual who loves to work with a fun team and do something different every day.

 

As part of the Client Servicing team, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the creative team and Client Services Director to determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Creating and managing projects with detailed work plans and timelines that list out activities and tasks that need to be completed
  • Suggesting, identifying and finding appropriate resources that is required to complete the project on-time and on-schedule
  • Properly managing and filing client or internal project files that are required to be shared among the team members and other key stakeholders
  • Executing the project according to the project plan and specifications
  • Monitoring the progress of the project and making any changes as required to meet project needs, and ensure successful completion
  • Reviewing the quality of the work completed with the project team

Social Media and Content Coordinator

Title: Social Media and Content Coordinator

A great new opportunity has come up and we’re looking for a digital native to join our team! This candidate will look after our Agency’s social media platforms as well as assist with coordinating social media and content projects for our clients predominantly for B2C clients. 

 

As part of the digital team, you will:

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for all kinds of digital projects (social, online campaigns and so forth) 
  • Collaborate with our digital marketing and creative team to execute the social medial strategy
  • Create content calendars and be responsible for the planning and execution of content across the Agency’s and client’s social media platforms which includes WeChat, Weibo and more
  • Identify third party and other co-brand opportunities to optimize performance and exposure of social efforts
  • Collaborate with copy writers to produce and write content to be used across multi-channels. 
  • Conduct market research, online news monitoring, listening and community management as required
  • Complete weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Learn how to pitch to the media and KOLs
  • Gain invaluable experience managing portions of a digital and graphic design projects

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience, preferably in a multinational or international environment, preferably in a creative or branding agency
